How to Sell on Faire: Setup, Commission, and Turning First Orders Into Repeat Customers

How to sell on Faire: what the commission costs, how to set up the Faire Shopify integration, how to sell more, and how to turn first orders into repeat retailers.

To sell on Faire, apply as a brand, add your catalog (the Faire Shopify integration is the easiest way), set your order minimums, and start taking orders from independent retailers. The first order is the easy part. Turning a Faire retailer into a repeat customer is the hard part. That's where Keystone comes in.

Why sell on Faire?

When we started selling on Faire, we saw that a lot of independent retailers were already there. Building our shop through the Shopify integration was easy. And retailers in areas our reps didn't cover could find us and place an order on their own.

Other reasons to sell on Faire:

  1. Reach. According to Faire, over 700,000 retailers use it (What is Faire Direct?).
  2. Terms. Eligible retailers get net 60 terms, and Faire covers that cost, not you (Faire Help Center).
  3. Returns. Retailers can return opening orders, and Faire takes on that return risk (Faire Help Center).
  4. Vetted buyers. Faire vets retailers' business details, like their website and resale tax ID (Faire Help Center).

What do Faire commissions look like?

As of October 2026, for brands based in the US and Canada, Faire's commission depends on who brought the retailer on (Faire's cost article):

Order Faire commission
First order from a retailer Faire's marketplace found 15% + a one-time $10
Reorders from that retailer 15%
Orders from a retailer who came through your Faire Direct link 0%

Payment processing applies to every order, Faire Direct included, and the rate depends on how fast you take payouts. Brands outside North America pay different rates.

So if you start a relationship with a retailer and bring them onto Faire, 0% commission. If you're leveraging Faire's reach, 15% commission now and going forward for that retailer.

Your Faire Direct link is your own link to your Faire shop, usually BRANDNAME.faire.com or faire.com/direct/BRANDNAME.

When a retailer places their first order with you on Faire through that link, Faire charges you 0% commission on their orders. Faire's widget, QR code, invoicing tool, and email campaigns count the same way (Faire Direct commission policy). This is why we recommend adding your Faire Direct link in Keystone to use in Prospect & Lead outreach.

Retailers lose nothing by using it. They still get Faire's benefits, like net 60 terms for eligible retailers and returns on opening orders, and retailers new to Faire get a sign-up incentive (What is Faire Direct?). That makes the link easy to share with stores you already sell to or meet at a show.

Is Faire worth it?

For most brands selling to independent retailers, we think so. Faire brings you retailers your reps won't reach, and it carries the terms and opening-order returns. If you're on Shopify, the Shopify x Faire integration is easy to set up and maintain.

The commission is real, though, and it applies to every reorder from a retailer Faire found. We'd go in knowing that number and treat Faire as the channel that finds new retailers for you. It's important to note that very few field reps will demand a 15% commission. We typically see rep commission range from 5-10%.

How to get started on Faire

  1. Apply. Apply on Faire's brand page. Faire looks at your category, location, product type, number of SKUs, existing wholesale business, and social presence (Faire Help Center).
  2. Finish onboarding. If you're accepted, the onboarding form takes about 15 minutes and covers your business, shipping, lead times, and order minimums (Faire Help Center).
  3. Add your whole catalog. Faire says brands that add more products can see three times more sales in their first year. New brands are featured in New Arrivals for their first two weeks.
  4. Set order minimums. Each brand sets its own. Faire recommends a first-order minimum of $100 to $150 (Faire's launch guide).
  5. Get verified. Verification typically takes 2 to 3 business days. Faire may ask for a business license, a sales tax license, or ID.
  6. Decide on territories. If you have reps, Faire will work with you to block off the areas they cover. We'd think hard about that one. Faire orders from a rep's territory are a chance for the rep to follow up, not a loss (Faire Brand Terms). However, work with your reps to decide what's right for their territory and what aligns with your own strategy.

How to set up the Faire Shopify integration

The Faire Shopify integration is the "Faire: Sell Wholesale" app. Install it, link your products, and choose whether to sync prices, inventory, and orders (Faire Help Center).

Turn on order sync. Accepted Faire orders then come into Shopify with line items, Faire's fees, the Faire order number, the expected ship date, the shipping address, and the tags "Faire" and "Wholesale." The retailer's real email comes through only if they chose to share it. Otherwise Faire sends an anonymized address (Faire Help Center).

If you're still setting up wholesale on Shopify itself, our guide to selling wholesale on Shopify covers plans and store setup.

How to sell more on Faire

  1. Keep your catalog full and current. More products give retailers more reasons to order.
  2. Use Faire's own tools. Faire's CRM has segments, campaigns, and automated 60, 90, and 120-day reorder check-ins. Faire recommends one segmented email a week (Faire's CRM checklist).
  3. Answer questions quickly. Use Faire Messenger for product and order questions.
  4. Share your Faire Direct link. Send it to retailers you already know or meet at shows. Faire recommends putting it in every email you send to retailers outside its platform.
  5. Follow up on first orders. This is where we saw brands, including us, fall short.

Why repeat Faire orders are the hard part

The hard part for us was turning Faire retailers into repeat customers. Either no rep was nearby, or there was a disconnect. Our reps didn't know who had ordered, where they were, or what they bought, so they didn't know how to help.

Faire's own reorder check-ins help, and we'd use them. But they go from Faire to the retailer. They don't tell your rep that a new store in their territory just ordered, or that a good account has gone quiet. For a brand that sells through reps, that's the gap.

Why Keystone works so well with Faire

Retailers who find you on Faire stay on Faire. Keystone is the engine for growing those relationships and turning them into loyal, repeat customers. Keystone reads your Faire orders from Shopify through Faire's order sync, so there's no separate Faire connection to set up.

  1. Every Faire order creates a Keystone account. The retailer becomes an account with your default price level, terms, and segment filled in. Account information is available for viewing by brand users, reps, and the buyers themselves if given access to Keystone.
  2. Reps are assigned by territory. Keystone assigns a rep from the ship-to address. We set up your territory map with you, and orders that don't match a rep are listed so nothing slips.
  3. Reps get alerts on new Faire orders. If you turn them on, reps get an email when a Faire order lands, showing who ordered, where they are, and what they bought. This simple flow leads to higher reorder rates and ensures that your Faire customers play well with existing accounts in your territories.
  4. The Faire account health report shows who's due. It lists each Faire account's orders, average order value, last order, days since last order, and assigned rep. You can filter it by rep.
  5. Reps get credit. Faire orders count toward the assigned rep's commission report, so reps have a reason to follow up. If you have a different rep commission structure for Faire orders, you can set up rules in Keystone to make commission tracking easy.
  6. CRM tracking and email keep the relationship going. Reps log calls, visits, and emails on Faire accounts like any other account. Email campaigns, with your Faire Direct button, reach Faire retailers who shared their email.

Here's how that can look. Say a Faire order lands in Denver. The rep who covers Colorado gets the alert, sees the store and what it bought, and stops by or reaches out to help them get set up. When the account's last order starts to age on the health report, the rep follows up, and the reorder happens on Faire.

Save your Faire Direct link once in Keystone. It shows up as a button in campaigns and rep alerts, so reorders happen on Faire.

Retailers you find yourself are different. They can order with you directly, or on Faire through your Faire Direct link at 0% commission. If you send that link from Keystone, Faire asks for a quick commission change request (see the FAQ).

Frequently asked questions

How much is Faire's commission for brands?

As of October 2026, for brands based in the US and Canada, Faire charges 15% of the order subtotal plus a one-time $10 fee on the first order from a retailer its marketplace found, and 15% on that retailer's reorders. Orders from retailers who come to Faire through the brand's Faire Direct link carry 0% commission. Payment processing fees apply to every Faire order, including Faire Direct orders.

What is a Faire Direct link?

A Faire Direct link is a brand's own link to its Faire shop, such as BRANDNAME.faire.com. When a retailer places their first order with the brand on Faire through that link, Faire charges the brand 0% commission on that retailer's orders. Payment processing fees still apply, and the retailer still gets Faire's benefits, such as net 60 terms for eligible retailers.

How does the Faire Shopify integration work?

Brands install the Faire: Sell Wholesale app in Shopify, link their products, and choose whether to sync prices, inventory, and orders. With order sync on, accepted Faire orders come into Shopify with line items, Faire's fees, the Faire order number, the expected ship date, the shipping address, and the tags Faire and Wholesale. The retailer's real email comes through only if the retailer chose to share it.

How do you sell more on Faire?

To sell more on Faire, list your full catalog, set sensible order minimums, use Faire's own email tools and reorder check-ins, answer retailer questions quickly in Faire Messenger, and share your Faire Direct link with retailers you already know. Brands with sales reps should also make sure reps know when a Faire order lands in their territory, so someone follows up on the first order.

Is Faire worth it for wholesale brands?

Faire is worth it for most brands that sell to independent retailers. It brings retailers a brand's reps don't reach, and Faire takes on net 60 terms for eligible retailers and returns on opening orders. The cost is a 15% commission on orders and reorders from retailers Faire's marketplace found, so brands should plan for that rate on those accounts.

Do emails sent outside Faire's tools qualify for 0% Faire Direct commission?

Not automatically. Faire automatically applies 0% commission when a retailer orders through a brand's Faire Direct link, widget, or QR code, or after an email sent through Faire's own email tools. If a brand emailed its Faire Direct link from another tool, such as Keystone, the brand submits a commission change request to Faire with a dated screenshot showing the link and the retailer's details.
